What Do we do now?

These truths hit us as a punch to the gut. Defeated. Outraged. Shamed. Exhausted. A deep wretch of shock at the full force of our situation.

The weight of it all could crush us back into sleep. We consider to close our eyes again and shut out the day. We ask ourselves if actually the dark isn’t more comfortable.

The light is searing, but it is also the light of rebirth. The moment we decide to stay awake, we begin to feel our strength return. Like muscles that have atrophied from disuse, our power flows back into us as we stretch and strain against the old forces holding us down.

We flex our muscles. We feel the surge of energy as it rushes back into our veins. We are not passive victims of a system. We are the source of the system’s power. We begin to trace the wires that have been siphoning our energy and cut them loose. We reclaim our agency, reconnecting the circuits to our own power.

Once fully awake, our own power surges. We rise from sleep and shift the flow of energy. By facing the brutal light, we step into the day as creators of it.

This work ahead is hard. But we are not afraid of hard work. We’ve been doing it our whole lives. The system has been built to make us believe we are weak, that we have no power. But the truth is, we are more powerful than we could have dreamed.

And with every moment of conscious choice, we come to understand our power is one of creation.

This is the beginning of the new day.
